Over half of the nation’s wetlands are found in the Gulf. Healthy Gulf monitors industry destruction of the wetlands to ensure that the public is aware of, and can act on, irresponsible wetland destruction or development.
Louisiana contains the largest river delta in the country, but also the most imperiled and abused. While the state has developed a Coastal Master Plan, other wetland-destroying interests threaten to disrupt this plan. Healthy Gulf monitors large restoration projects and works to prevent industrial damage to them, to ensure their maximum success in this time of crisis.
