New Faces and Fond Farewells at GRN

Greetings from Christian and Dustin

In the last couple of months, Gulf Restoration Network has been sad to say goodbye to some members of our team, and happy to welcome new folks.

In August, Jordan Macha, GRN’s Gulf Policy Analyst ended her time with the GRN. Jordan was lead on all things post-BP restoration. Although we will miss her, we congratulate her on becoming Executive Director of Bayou City Waterkeeper and look forward to working with her in that capacity! With the recent devastation of Hurricane Harvey, her work as a Waterkeeper in the Houston area is more important than ever.

We were also saddened by the departure in June of Shona Clarkson, GRN’s Communications Director. However, we are excited to welcome Dustin Renaud as our new Communications Director. Dustin was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi and, in addition to other communication experience, worked as the Gulf Coast Program Manager for the National Audubon Society in the aftermath of the BP disaster.

We’re also happy to welcome Christian Wagley as our new Coastal Campaign Organizer. Christian is based in Florida and will be working on issues in the Florida Panhandle and eastern portion of coastal Alabama. Christian is a long-time resident and conservation leader in the Florida Panhandle. We look forwarding to work with Christian to expand GRN’s work in the region!

Finally, we’re hiring a new Wetland Analyst and Fisheries Associate. Please share these job notices widely and apply if you’re interested. Hopefully, soon we’ll be welcoming you or one of your family members or friends to the GRN team too.
