Global Warming Internship:

Our climate is changing because of human caused global warming.  All of our hard work to protect the Gulf Coast could be overwhelmed by the de-stabilization of our climate from greenhouse gases.  Some of the direct impacts will be higher sea levels, temperature increases, and changes in our water supply.  These changes have the potential to increase the erosion of our coast, increase storm surges, disrupt fishing, and damage the economy.  But, it is not too late to avoid the worst of these impacts if we act now. 

The global warming intern will assist the GRN in our efforts to:

·         Investigate breaking research on the impacts of climate change on the gulf coast.

·         Build awareness of climate change in the Gulf Coast region.

·         Reach out to other stakeholders and continue building alliances to advocate for global warming solutions.

·         Create and disseminate media materials on the issue.

·         Have fun helping out with major events like Step It Up 2007.
