Thanks for taking action to save our cypress! There are lots of ways
to get involved. First and foremost, don't buy cypress mulch. Urge
your friends and neighbors to avoid the product as well since it is
coming from endangered forests on the Gulf Coast that are our best
natural storm and flood protection.
Join the Save Our Cypress campaign:
- Send an email to the CEO's of Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Home Depot
asking them to abandon cypress mulch products. Click here to use our
system that will automatically deliver your message to all three. When
you're done, please tell your friends they can do the same.
- Make a quick phone call to each CEO and air your concerns in person. Click here for numbers and easy talking points.
- Personally deliver a letter
to the manager of your local Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Home Depot outlets.
You can download a sample letter and get more info from this website .
You can also start your own Save Our Cypress campaign in your area.
From getting postcards filled out to direct actions, there's something
for everyone. As cypress trees continue to fall, and the mulch spreads
throughout the country, we need a vocal and engaged public all over the nation to help halt
this destruction.
We've put together lots of materials and
resources that you can use for your local campaign, and if you sign up at this website , we'll make sure to be in touch with more details.
If there's any exciting news from your local campaign, send it to dan at healthygulf.org, and we'll post it on
our blog!
