The Mulch Matters Kit is an educational display about sustainable
alternatives to cypress mulch that easily sets up in the corner of the
room, and it’s a great addition to any meeting or gathering. There are
three easy steps you can take to help stop the destruction of cypress
forests:
1) Set up the Mulch Matters Kit at your next garden club meeting or
event or sponsor an event at your home to display it for friends, and
show the Save Our Cypress DVD.
2) Ask your friends to take action on this issue by signing a postcard
asking Lowe's, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart to live up to their
environmental commitments by abandoning the sale of unsustainable
cypress mulch. Also, ask friends and family to become members of the Gulf Restoration Network.
3) Package up the Mulch Matters Kit and send it on to another garden
club. This way you can help spread the Save Our Cypress message across
the nation.
Kits include display posters, mulch samples, "Mulch Matters" brochures,
"Don't Clear-Cut the Gulf Coast" postcards, and a Save Our Cypress DVD.

The Save Our Cypress Coalition website has a whole new look!
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the website and to all who are part of the Save Our Cypress campaign.
It sounds like the plot of a cartoon . . .
Cypress
swamps are clear-cut and entire trees are ground up to make cypress garden
mulch. Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Lowe's are driving destruction of the Gulf's
best natural storm protection by selling cypress mulch all over the country.
It's time they stopped.
One of the most important actors in this tragic comedy is
you. Once you've watched the cartoon, please help ensure a happy ending by
using our action system to send an email directly to the CEO's of all three
companies. Then, if you show the clip to five friends, we'll send you a little
token of thanks.
You can also get involved with the
Save Our Cypress Campaign by making three quick phone calls or signing up to start your own local effort.
Coordinated, grassroots efforts are the best way to influence companies
to protect the environment. Together we can make Home Depot,
Wal-Mart, and Lowe's stop selling cypress mulch and save our cypress.
