Thanks to our loyal supporters, the Gulf Restoration Network is the largest recipient of Luzianne’s End Bitterness Challenge. Your faithful clicks helped us get 44% of the vote; that’s $22,000 to defend the coast! This was truly an effort that United for a Healthy Gulf. Representatives from Luzianne and Peter A Mayer Advertising Agency presented GRN with the check on Tuesday, April 15th.
We’re putting this money to work in our Protect Our Wetlands, Protect Ourselves: Natural Defenses Campaign. This initiative focuses on the protection and restoration of marshes, barrier islands, and coastal wetlands throughout the gulf region.
The “Non Bitter” campaign was centered around the 2007 launch of Luzianne Coffee on Monday, November 19. “Non Bitter Monday” also marked the launching of www.endbitterness.com, which featured a $50,000 donation to be split among six charities. Luzianne Coffee identified those charities that would “bring hope to bitter situations”: Make-A-Wish Foundation; Toys for Tots; Teach for America; America’s Wetlands; Habitat for Humanity; and the Gulf Restoration Network.
Stephanie Powell, GRN; Jeff Grimes, GRN; Matt Rota, GRN; Jessica Netto, GRN; John Sillars, Luzianne; Ashlee Dunn, Luzianne; and Ron Emone, Luzianne.
